Privacy Policy for Remy
Last Updated: March 3, 2026
Overview
Remy ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Remy browser extension.
Data Collection
Data Stored Locally
Remy stores the following data locally in your browser (using Chrome's chrome.storage.local API):
- Reminders:
- Tab URLs
- Tab titles
- Optional notes (selected text you highlight)
- Reminder timestamps
- Tab favicons
- User Settings:
- Default reminder duration
- Notification preferences
- Context menu preferences
- Quiet hours settings
- Integration Credentials (if enabled):
- Todoist: OAuth access token (stored locally, encrypted by browser)
- Google Tasks: OAuth tokens are managed by Chrome, not stored by Remy
This data never leaves your browser unless you explicitly enable integrations.
Data Transmission
Remy does not transmit any data to external servers unless you enable integrations:
If You Enable Todoist Integration:
- Reminder data (title, URL, due date) is synced to your Todoist account
- OAuth authentication flows through our Cloudflare Worker (OAuth proxy)
- Only data you explicitly sync is transmitted
If You Enable Google Tasks Integration:
- Reminder data (title, URL, due date) is synced to your Google Tasks account
- OAuth authentication is handled entirely by Chrome (no backend server)
- Only data you explicitly sync is transmitted
Google API Services — Limited Use Disclosure
Remy's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Specifically:
- Remy only uses Google Tasks API data to create and manage task reminders on your behalf.
- Remy does not transfer Google user data to third parties except as necessary to provide the service, with user consent, or as required by law.
